About me

I was born in Perth, Western Australia and immigrated to Canada in 2003 and have dual Australian/Canadian  citizenship. I'm living in Kelowna, moving here from Mission in the Lower Mainland, British Columbia (BC), Canada with my wonderful husband and our faithful dog. I retired from Post-secondary Education in BC as a senior administrator in Institutional Research July 31st, 2019 and I'm loving it so far as I can concentrate on my art work.

In 2005, after a conversation with a friend, I attended a couple of drawing and painting classes at the local New Westminster High School. The instructors were amazing and they encouraged me to embark in a more structured learning environment, so I applied to Emily Carr University where I completed my first Certificate in Fine Arts. These couple of years really opened my eyes to how many wonderful mediums and styles of artwork that were being produced and helped me understand some of the basic principles and techniques of fine arts. I also thought that it would help me identify what style or medium I would specialize in. However, it didn't, and I still don't, and I do not have a single specialization that I want to pursue, I want to try it all...... I have continued painting and drawing for my own satisfaction, and much to my surprise, there are other people that like my work. I am currently engaged in an exploration of pottery, which I am enjoying very much and you never know there might be a section dedicated to Pottery in the coming months.

I love experimenting and challenging the structured ideas and techniques that many of the mediums and styles have, e.g., watercolour, encaustics, acrylics, pencil, charcoal, Indian ink and oils, with a number of different styles and types, landscapes, still life, portraits and abstracts in most of the mediums.

I hope that you enjoy the collection of items that I have chosen to share with you, and please send me an email with your feedback.

Cheers and thank you for visiting my website.
